White sage is also called Indian incense. It is made from the silver-white leaves of the Salvia Apiana plant and grows on the coast of California. It is a sacred herb used by shamans of indigenous peoples in North America for centuries for purification ceremonies. Hereby not only the living environment, but also the mind with all her thoughts is cleaned. White Sage has a penetrating spicy smell. Scientific research has shown that 94% of the bacteria in the room have been broken down after burning this herb.
How to smudge: … Light the end of the bundle or pull a few strands off and set light to it on a heat resistant dish (or abalone shell). Waft the smoke in every corner of the room wither with your hand or ceremonial feather. Once the smoke has filled the room, open all the windows, to let the negative energy blow away. You can say a little prayer or just give thanks for the negativity now being released from your space. (It’s all about setting your intentions) Remember – Never leave the smouldering leaves unattended.
These little bundles of white sage are perfect for the purification of small spaces, such a small flat, your own aurora or vehicle. Alternatively, you can pull a few pieces from the bundle when needed.
A good one for you if you’re new to saging.
