Incense and Sage

The word incense comes from the Latin word ‘incendere’, which means ‘to burn’ which very aptly describes exactly what incense does. Incense has been used in many cultures for centuries.

Incense is typically made from different woods, powders and fragrances and can be formed into cones, sticks or other shapes to form incense.

The burning of sage is a historical spiritual ritual also known as smudging and is used to purify the air which is believed to help remove bacteria from the air, repel insects, improve intuition and mood as well as reducing stress and anxiety.
