The art of meditation dates back some 3,000 years so it’s definitely not a new idea, however, if you have never meditated before it can be a daunting concept.

Our entire lives are experienced through our minds and once we begin meditating our whole perspective can dramatically change.

More and more people are investing in mindfulness and meditation practice, and reaping the benefits in terms of reduced stress levels, increased productivity and morale, as well as helping to regulate emotions.

To feel the full benefits of meditation, regular practice is recommended, although this could be as little as 5 minutes a day.

The process of meditating is quite simple.

All you have to is sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes and focus on your breathing.

A place of stillness where no effort is required.

There is no such thing as a good or bad meditation practice, only awareness and non-awareness. Once you realise you are lost in thought, bring your awareness back to the breath and with practice and perseverance the periods between awareness and distraction will increase.
